The university’s Electronic Publications department, in the office of University Relations, is teaming up with the Washington, D.C., professional chapter of SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) and ACCESS (Alliance Center for Collaboration, Education, Science, and Software) to host the second D.C.-SIGGRAPH chapter reception and meeting of the year.
This meeting, titled “Christmas Meet and Mingle,” is open to members and nonmembers, and takes place Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the ACCESS facility, located at 901 North Stuart Street, Suite 800, in Arlington. It will provide a virtual Christmas atmosphere for participants to meet and discuss possibilities for future collaborations. A tour of ACCESS is included as part of the evening’s events.
Those not able to attend the meeting are invited to view it online via the webcast of the event.
ACCESS is an alliance center that unites more than 50 research, industry, and government partners in an effort to create the National Technology Grid, a prototype of the 21st century’s computational information infrastructure. SIGGRAPH is a nonprofit international organization that supports computer graphics in science, art, research, and education.
