Alumni Association Celebrates Patriot

Stephan Schwartz, author of the forthcoming book Forgotten Founder: The Biography of George Mason, will speak about Mason, one of the nation’s founding fathers, at a celebration commemorating the Virginia native’s 275th birthday. The Alumni Association hosts the event on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Gunston Hall Plantation in Mason Neck, Va.

Schwartz is a distinguished writer, editor, professor, and researcher. He has written three books, several book chapters, introductions, and prefaces, as well as more than 30 publications in the fields of international strategy, geopolitical analysis, maritime affairs, anthropology, and history.

He has written articles for publications such as The Washington Post and The New York Times, and he was a speech ghostwriter for President Richard Nixon and Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger, among others.
