Northern Virginia Transportation Compact Signed at Mason

Eighteen private sector organizations gathered at George Mason yesterday to announce the formation of a Northern Virginia Transportation Compact in which they agreed to pursue “regional, state, and federal solutions to the transportation crisis” within this region. The announcement was made at a press conference held in Mason Hall, where representatives from each of the organizations signed “a framework for constructive change,” according to Todd Stottlemyer, chair of the Northern Virginia Roundtable’s transportation task force.
Members of this new alliance are the Alexandria, Arlington, Central Fairfax, Fairfax County, Herndon Dulles, Prince William–Greater Manassas, Vienna Regional, Prince William Regional, Loudoun County, and Greater Reston Chambers of Commerce; the Northern Virginia chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties; the Northern Virginia Technology Council; the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association; the REGION Coalition; the Dulles Area Transportation Association; the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors; the Northern Virginia Roundtable; and the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance.
