Hot Spot to feature fan favorites
Mason Dining launches their newest concept created specifically with students in mind. Located in Student Union Building I, the Hot Spot has been designed by top Mason Dining culinary talent to hit the spot with fan favorites while always keeping it fresh by changing cuisines weekly.
Beginning with an Asian noodle bar on Monday, Jan. 23, in honor of the Chinese New Year, Mason Dining will then transition weekly, beginning with the always-favorite pasta bar, continuing into February with a fajita bar and then a Caribbean menu in honor of Black History Month. Mason students will have the opportunity to vote on the menus for the rest of the semester through Facebook at Facebook.com/MasonDining.
Subway and Second Stop Patriot Shop opening in the new Rogers Hall
Come Monday, Jan. 23, Subway will be the newest national brand to join Mason’s dining options, sharing space with Second Stop Patriot Shop Convenience Store in the new residence hall, Rogers Hall.
The Second Stop Patriot Shop features traditional convenience items, including bottled beverages, snacks, toiletries and f’real milkshakes and smoothies.
Second Stop Patriot Shop will be opening on Friday, Jan. 20.
Mason Dining Celebrates Chinese New Year
On Monday, Jan. 23, Mason Dining will host the New World Bilingual Institute (NWBI), as its students from Jefferson High School perform a traditional dragon dance near the clock on the Johnson Center North Plaza at 12:30 p.m.
The event will kick off the Mason Dining Chinese New Year Celebration.
Following the performance, free samples will be offered at the Asian noodle bar at the new Hot Spot in SUB I, and the Confucius Institute will give a paper-folding demonstration in the Johnson Center from 1 to 2 p.m.
