The Graduate School of Education (GSE) and the Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) today from 6 to 8 p.m. at George’s, on the top floor of the Johnson Center. All members of the university community are invited to attend.
This landmark special education program, originally called the Education for All Handicapped Children Act when it was created in 1975, has improved the lives of millions of individuals by providing access to the appropriate services and education.
Members of professional, advocacy, and educational organizations will make presentations at the event, and children and their families who have received services from IDEA will share their experiences. For more information, contact Devon Hardy at x33145 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
