George Evans Named Mid-Major All-American

George Mason basketball player George Evans has been named to the first annual preseason Mid-Major All-America Team by College Hoops Insider.
A total of 25 players at schools designated as “mid-major” programs were honored by College Hoops Insider, a popular collegiate basketball web site. Other players representing teams George Mason will face this season include University of North Carolina-Wilmington’s Brett Blizzard, American University’s Patrick Doctor, Drexel University’s Joe Linderman, the University of Detroit’s Rashad Phillips, and the University of Toledo’s Greg Stempin.
The Patriots won their only two exhibition games this year with wins over Court Authority (88 to 61) and the Nantucket Naturals (87 to 68). The team opens the 2000-01 season Nov. 13 at the University of New Mexico in the first round of the Preseason National Invitation Tournament.
