Electronic Publications Cohosts Technology Meeting

The university’s electronic publications office is teaming up with the Washington, D.C., professional chapter of SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) and ACCESS (Alliance Center for Collaboration, Education, Science and Software) to host the first D.C.-SIGGRAPH chapter reception and meeting of the year.
This meeting, open to members and non members, takes place Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the ACCESS facility, located at 901 North Stuart Street, Suite 800, in Arlington. A tour of ACCESS is included as part of the evening’s events.
As part of the meeting, Paras Kaul, electronic publications coordinator, will present a web project designed to function as a virtual center for simulcast information, news, and real time web casts at
ACCESS is an alliance center that unites more than 50 research, industry, and government partners in an effort to create the National Technology Grid, a prototype of the 21st century’s computational information infrastructure. SIGGRAPH is a non profit international organization that supports computer graphics in science, art, research, and education.
