"Hello, Patriot!" is available in the Mason Bookstore or online.

Are you looking for the perfect gift for the Patriot in your life? The Mason Bookstore’s newest addition might be just the thing. The Mason Patriot, the university’s mascot, is now the star of his very own picture book, “Hello, Patriot!”

The book follows the Patriot as he tours campus, stopping at events and venues central to life at Mason: classrooms, the Shack-a-Thon, Mason Madness, International Week, the Center for the Arts, the Patriot Center and others. Along the way, he experiences the sights and sounds that make the Mason community what it is. He even rubs the George Mason statue’s foot for good luck!

The book is the brainchild of the Green and Gold Innovation Process (GGIP), a cross-organizational team that seeks new revenue sources for the university. Ultimately, proceeds for the book will be used to help fund future projects that support the mission of the university. The book will also help promote Mason pride by highlighting aspects of campus life that make the university unique.

The book is published by Mascot Books Inc., which has produced more than 200 books on school mascots. The book is now available for purchase in the Mason Bookstore and online for $14.95.

And if you want a chance to meet the star himself, the Mason Patriot will be on hand on Saturday, Jan. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. in front of the Mason Bookstore in the Johnson Center for the family event, “Cookies with the Patriot.”
