Administrative and professional faculty and full- and part-time classified staff members with at least seven years of service are eligible to apply for paid staff study leave of up to three months. The deadline for applications is Friday, Nov. 10.

Applications must be submitted through the supervisor, dean, or director and the appropriate vice president or provost, who determines which study leave applications to grant. Staff study leaves were created to support the development of new skills and competencies for employees and/or the development of services, programs, or initiatives that will benefit the university. Employees are encouraged to consider opportunities and/or interests that have previously been unavailable because of lack of time or support.

“We’re looking for people who have great ideas for projects that would improve the university, their jobs, or their skills, but which are too demanding to complete as part of their regular work load,” says Maurice Scherrens, senior vice president.

Applications can be downloaded from the Human Resources web site. For additional information, contact Human Resources at x32600.
