Larry Storey, University Computing and Information Systems (UCIS), has been chosen as November’s employee of the month. Storey has worked with UCIS as an information technology analyst for 20 months at the Prince William Campus. He serves as a support center analyst and a field service technician, working closely with the support centers at Prince William. He ensures that all computing systems, including electronic classrooms, the help desks, and faculty office computers, are working at full functionality.
Storey says he enjoys the diversity that his job gives him and the ability to interact with a variety of different people. “The environment in which I work is one where the people I work for, and with, are truly appreciative, and that’s wonderful.”
Storey received a total of 20 nominations by fellow employees and by employees in other departments, including the Office of Continuing Professional Education at Prince William, the Prince William Library, and the Prince William Office of the Executive Vice President.
Tracey Seffers, enrollment services manager in the Student and Academic Services Office, says of Storey’s job performance, “The university has many competent employees, people who do their work well, and people who know their jobs. But we also know that there are ‘jewels,’ the ones who stand out from the crowd, who manage not only to do their own jobs well but also to make the work of others easier and more pleasant. We need to honor those kind of people, and Larry Storey is one of the jewels.”
