Office of Sponsored Programs? HR Learning? Environmental Health and Safety? IT Training? Where do you turn when you need professional development?
The opportunities abound, and now Human Resources and Payroll has organized the first-ever Employee Learning Week Expo to introduce faculty and staff to all the offerings available right here at Mason.
The free expo will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall.
President Alan Merten will sign a proclamation for Employee Learning Week that states, “George Mason University is committed to encouraging and supporting the learning and development of its faculty and staff so they may best serve its students and the university’s mission.”
Lori Ann Roth, learning and professional development director in HR and Payroll, promises that visiting the expo will provide informative and interactive booths where you can explore new learning opportunities and sample the many workshops Mason has to offer.
In addition to the offices listed above, some of the other expected participants are:
- Office of Continuing Professional Education
- Mason Recreation
- The EDGE
- Wellness by Mason
- Virginia’s CommonHealth program
- Center for Consciousness and Transformation
Employee Learning Week is an initiative of the American Society for Training and Development.
