The Potomac Arts Academy, Mason’s community arts organization, is now offering piano classes targeted to students age 55 and older.

According to director Libby Curtis, the classes will use a “brand-new, state-of-the-art piano lab, provided by Steinway, at our Chain Bridge Road location.” The academy will offer weekly piano classes at two different times. Both of the classes run from Feb. 16 to May 10, 2012, and both are taught by Mason music alumna Ina Mirtcheva.

The class description follows:

Have you always wanted to play piano? Here’s your chance to check it off of your bucket list. Learn alongside your peers who have similar interests and life experiences. This class is specifically designed to provide a relaxed and stress-free environment. Enjoy making music in this supportive and social setting. Take advantage of the special “$255 for 55+” price for this class.

The class is offered on Thursdays, either from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or from 6 to 7 p.m.

Registration can be done online or by phone or mail. For more information and to explore other offerings, see the Potomac Arts Academy website.
