Chanticleer to Perform at Two Mason Venues This Season

For more than 30 years, Chanticleer’s Christmas concert has been a longstanding hallmark of the holiday season in concert halls across the nation. This male a cappella ensemble will perform “A Chanticleer Christmas” to kick off the season, with appearances at two Mason venues on Thanksgiving weekend.

The ensemble’s holiday program features traditional Christmas carols, revered sacred works, joyful seasonal favorites and more.

  • On Saturday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m., Chanticleer returns to the Center for the Arts in Fairfax as part of the Great Performances at Mason series. Tickets are $24, $40 and $48. Visit the box office, charge by phone at 888-945-2468 or visit cfa.gmu.edu.
  • On Sunday, Nov. 27, at 4 p.m., Chanticleer appears for the first time at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas as part of the Hylton Presents series. Tickets are $32, $40 and $48. Visit the box office, charge by phone at 888-945-2468 or visit hyltoncenter.org.

Chanticleer has released numerous recordings, including “Colors of Love” in 2000 and “Lamentations and Praises” in 2002, which each earned Grammy Awards. Chanticleer has also released several Christmas albums, including “Sing We Christmas” and its newest, “Our Favorite Carols.”

The ensemble also recently released a DVD titled “Fireside Christmas with Chanticleer,” as well as a CD titled “Best of Chanticleer,” featuring three new tracks, including Mahler’s “Ich bin der welt” and Gershwin’s “Summertime.”
