“Conflict Resolution in Sports: Dealing Productively with Intra-Team Conflict” is the title of the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution’s (ICAR) brown bag lecture today from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The speaker, ICAR student Bill Sanford, interviewed 29 current and former college and professional coaches, athletes, and administrators to learn more about the internal disagreements and conflicts that sports teams experience. He studied the effects of these conflicts on both individuals and teams, and looked at the ways that teams deal with the disagreements. Sanford will discuss what he learned from these interviews and explain the implications of this information for both sports teams and the field of conflict resolution.
The discussion is held in ICAR’s main conference room, A401, located at 4260 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax.
