Drug Education Services observes Alcohol Awareness Week this week with a variety of events and informational services. Thursday’s guest speaker Bobby Petrocelli, a motivational speaker and former high school football coach, is the highlight of the week. He speaks at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center Multipurpose Room. Petrocelli’s wife died when a drunk driver crashed into their house in the middle of the night. He will speak about how a 10-second event changed his life, but his story is one of triumph over adversity.

“Are You Wearing Your Beer Goggles?” a confidential alcohol screening to determine at-risk behavior, takes place on Wednesday and Thursday in SUB I, Room C, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Also, a kiosk is set up today through Thursday in the Johnson Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where information can be obtained about alcohol and drug abuse, warning signs, and treatment options.
