Former George Mason standout basketball player Jason Miskiri signed with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Sunday. It is his second stint in the NBA after spending four games with the Charlotte Hornets last season. Miskiri also played for the LaCrosse Bobcats of the Continental Basketball Association and the Richmond Rhythm of the International Basketball League last year.
A transfer from Montgomery College in Rockville, Md., Miskiri played two seasons for the Patriots, from 1997 to 1999. The point guard led the team to its first Colonial Athletic Association championship regular-season title and into the NCAA tournament in 1999. Miskiri signed with the Hornets as an undrafted free agent on Oct. 5, 1999.
Miskiri averaged 8.5 points and 4.4 assists in 45 games for the Rhythm. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists for George Mason’s 1999 NCAA tournament team.
