Every week on GMU-TV, three roundtable discussion programs–Mason Currents, Capital Region Roundtable, and Time Out–are shown during prime time. GMU-TV is shown on Cox Cable channel 18, Comcast (Reston) channel 18, and Comcast (Alexandria) channels 79 and 95. Following are the topics, hosts, guests, and programming schedule for each show airing this week:
- Mason Currents #2–“Election 2000: Students’ Perspectives” is hosted by Star Muir, Division of Instructional Improvement and Instructional Technologies. Guests are students Jimmie Foster, editor in chief of Broadside, and Courtney Dozier. The show airs tonight at 9:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 11:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 18, and Friday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m.
- Capital Region Roundtable #41–“Campaign Financing” is hosted by Toni-Michelle Travis, Public and International Affairs. Guests are Jon Gould, Public and International Affairs; Michael Malbin, executive director of the Campaign Finance Institute; and John Sample, director of the Center for Representative Government at the Cato Institute. The show airs tonight at 11:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 21, at 9:30 p.m.; and Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m.
- Time Out #5B–“Life Skills Advising for Athletes” is hosted by Mike Tapscott, former director of Minority Student Affairs. The guest is Nena Rodgers, life skills advisor at George Mason. The show airs tonight at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 9:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m.
