The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) with the slogan “Give from the Heart” began Oct. 1.

The campaign provides an opportunity to support a wide range of important community programs and nonprofit organizations through payroll deduction, credit card payment, check or cash. Enrollment forms along with a directory listing the organizations participating in the CVC (some of which are located in Northern Virginia), are available from Mason’s CVC coordinator at hyunker@gmu.edu. You can also access the directory at www.cvc.vipnet.org and make a pledge online.

In an email to employees, President Alan Merten wrote, “Sally and I give to CVC because the agencies supported by the campaign are making a difference in our community and beyond. This year’s slogan, “Give from the Heart,” highlights what compassionate and caring charities can accomplish with your gift. I encourage each of you to consider making a pledge. Your gift, whether you are giving for the first time or increasing last year’s contribution, helps strengthen our community. Please note that 100 percent of our designated gift goes to the charities of your choice.

“Thank you for all that you do for Mason and our community. Together we can make a difference!”
