Jim Engelhardt, associate athletic director for public relations, is leaving George Mason to become the communications director for the Manufacturers Alliance, a national trade association based in Rosslyn. The company supports and promotes the interests of the manufacturing industry in achieving greater productivity and innovation.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at George Mason University and agree with Dr. Merten’s recent assessment that this institution is on the verge of greatness,” says Engelhardt. “I look forward to watching the university continue to grow as it prepares to take its rightful place among the outstanding institutions in the United States.”
Engelhardt has been involved in athletics for 21 years at four NCAA Division I schools-Colgate University, St. Francis (Pa.) College, St. Bonaventure University, and George Mason. He joined the Mason staff on June 1, 1996.
“I look forward to finally being able to support the Patriots without the pressure of press row decorum,” says Engelhardt.
