The Center for the Arts (CFA) celebrates its 10th anniversary today with a reception that will be simultaneously broadcast on the Internet. The Institute of the Arts invites the university community to attend the 3 p.m. ceremony held in the lobby of the Concert Hall, to watch the event on a live real-time web cast.
Speakers at the reception will look back at the successes of the past 10 years and offer a glimpse into the institute’s future. Peter Stearns, provost; Stanley Taylor, vice president for the distributed university; Rick Davis, interim director of the Institute of the Arts; and Charles Joyce, president of the George Mason Arts Associates are scheduled to speak. CFA had its first opening night performance on Oct. 6, 1990.
This event marks George Mason’s first web cast, presented by Electronic Publications in conjunction with Star Lab, University Computing and Information Systems, The Capitol Connection, and GMU-TV. Paras Kaul is the coordinator for the web cast.
