This fall, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is celebrating 20 years of affiliation with Mason in several ways:

  • Friday, Sept. 16 – The 20th Anniversary Celebration for OLLI members will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 9350 Braddock Road, Burke, Va. This reception will feature music by Mason’s Brass Quintet, vignettes by the OLLI Players theater group and remarks from past presidents.
  • Friday, Oct. 21 – An appreciation breakfast reception for Mason President Alan Merten, Provost Peter Stearns and other members of the university’s leadership will be held at the Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel.
  • OLLI will present a $20,000 gift to Mason’s Office of Military Services in appreciation to the university for its support.

OLLI currently serves 975 members at locations throughout the Northern Virginia area, including Tallwood, which is adjacent to the Fairfax Campus on Roberts Road. The institute provides academic courses and cultural activities for active older adults in their retirement years. For more information, see www.olli.gmu.edu or email olli@gmu.edu.
