Mason’s annual fall convocation is set for Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 3 p.m. in Harris Theater on the Fairfax Campus. Faculty research will be the focus of this campuswide meeting, which is open to all faculty, staff and students.
President Alan Merten will preside over convocation. Other speakers scheduled are Roger Stough, vice president for research and economic development, and three faculty members who will discuss their specific research. They are Kevin Clark, associate professor of education; Padmanabhan Seshaiyer, associate professor of mathematics; and Cynthia Kierner, professor of history.
The fall convocation provides an opportunity for the campus community to assemble to discuss issues of concern and learn more about the work taking place at Mason. This year’s focus on faculty research will showcase the significant strides the university has made in this area and highlight the work of individual faculty members that is representative of Mason’s emergence as a major research institution.
Refreshments will be served immediately following the convocation.
