The School of Art and the Inter-American Development Bank Cultural Center are sponsoring the Biennial of Video Art at the Fine Arts Gallery in the Art and Design Building from Monday, Aug. 29, through Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Founded in 2002, the Biennial of Video Art is organized by the Inter-American Development Bank Cultural Center and has developed into a recognized and visible worldwide venue.

The Biennial of Video Art encourages and stimulates the use of video technology for creative purposes among artists from Latin America and the Caribbean. During 2011, the Biennial is celebrating its first decade of existence.

In celebration, Mason’s Fine Arts Gallery will screen selected videos from the past five Biennials. The videos in the exhibition were created by prize-winning artists from Latin America, as well as students and faculty from Polish art schools.
