There are many wonderful opportunities to volunteer during Welcome Week (The Preamble). You can assist the committee by helping students with their questions at an Ask Me tent. The committee is looking for volunteers to take shifts of one, two or more hours at any of the Ask Me tents. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and button and will be invited to the Volunteer Thank You Social on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
To volunteer, go to the online sign-up page.
In addition, the Office of Housing and Residence Life is looking for faculty and staff from across the campus to dedicate a few hours to help welcome new incoming students at Freshmen Move-In on Thursday, Aug. 25. Volunteers will direct students to their move-in areas and parking, answer questions at information booths and, for those looking for a workout, help move in student belongings.
Shifts are also available on Saturday, Aug. 27, when returning residents move in.
