Mason Neuroscience and Inova Department of Neuroscience Partner on Summer Seminars

This summer, the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study and Inova Health System will host a public weekly seminar series titled “Translational Research in Action.”

The seminars will focus on the process of taking scientific discovery to implementation in a clinical setting and facilitating the exchange of ideas for translational research collaborations at Mason.

Invited speakers will come from the fields of basic research, clinical research or biomedical device development. Upcoming seminars are:

  • On Thursday, June 16, at 11 a.m., Robert Lipsky will give an overview of translational medical science. Lipsky serves as director of translational research in the Department of Neurosciences at Inova Health System and is a professor of molecular neuroscience at Mason.
  • On Tuesday, June 21, at 11 a.m., Siddhartha Sikdar, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Mason, will discuss translational research opportunities in biomedical engineering.

The seminars will be held at the Krasnow Institute on the Fairfax Campus.
