Grant Activity on the Rise at George Mason

George Mason’s Office of Sponsored Programs reports a noteworthy increase in the amount of grants and contract activity by the university over the past year. For the fiscal year 1998-99, George Mason received $32.2 million in new awards, according to the office. This figure increased to $43 million during fiscal year 1999-2000.
During this same period, the amount of sponsored programs expenditures also increased. For fiscal year 1998-99, sponsored programs expended $33 million. For fiscal year 1999-2000, the office spent $37.1 million.
