The Arlington County Fair begins today and runs through Sunday at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 South Second Street, on the corner of South Second Street and Old Glebe Road in Arlington. Admission is free. The fair features pony rides, a petting zoo, pig races, carnival rides, an arts and crafts show and sale, live entertainment, and exhibits by government, nonprofit, and commercial organizations. This year’s theme is “Where the Community Comes Together.”

George Mason has a booth at the fair where information about both the university and the bond campaign for the redevelopment of the Arlington Campus will be available. If passed in November, the $5-million bond referendum for higher education will be Arlington County’s contribution to the construction of the Arlington Campus Phase II project.

For information about free parking and shuttle buses, see the fair’s website.
