Computer Forensic Symposium Begins Today

Approximately 350 law enforcement officers and government employees and contractors from across the country and abroad are on the Fairfax Campus today attending “GMU 2000,” a hands-on training program in combating cybercrime.
Cosponsored by the George Mason University and Fairfax County Police Departments, “GMU 2000” is the annual symposium of the Regional Computer Forensic Group. The program begins today and runs through Thursday in SUB II and the Johnson Center Cinema.
More than 45 sessions are planned, including topics in Internet security, crimes in cyberspace, computer seizure, hacking and hacker profiles, forensic software, and e-mail investigations.
