Two Lacrosse Players Named to National Academic Team

For the second consecutive season, seniors Faith Klapinski and Cara McFadden have been named to the Division I National Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). A total of 165 players from all three divisions received the accolade.
To be nominated for the IWLCA National Academic Team, a student must have a minimum of a 3.2 grade point average, be a starter or an important reserve, and hold a junior or senior class standing.
Klapinski is a three-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Scholar Athlete and was named to the Dean’s List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll all eight semesters. The defender started all 16 games last season, scoring four goals and two assists. She received second-team All-CAA honors the last two years.
McFadden led the Patriots and ranked third in the CAA in scoring, recording 32 goals and 27 assists. The captain earned first-team All-CAA honors in 2000 and was named to the second team in 1999. She is also a three-time CAA Scholar Athlete, and made the Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll all eight semesters.
