Mason’s School of Art and the Confucius Institute are sponsoring an exhibition of Chinese scrolls from the art collection of Chi Wang, an adjunct professor of U.S.-China relations and modern China at Georgetown University and the co-chair of the U.S.-China Policy Foundation in Washington, D.C.
“This exhibition of Chinese scrolls from the art collection of Dr. Chi Wang represents the best of Chinese scroll painting from the 14th to the 20th century. Subject matter includes landscapes, figures, nature studies and visual entries into unusual places, along with works of pure calligraphy,” says Walter Kravitz, gallery director.
The exhibit will be in the Mason Hall Alumni Atrium Gallery on the Fairfax Campus from Monday, Feb. 14 to Friday, March 18.
A panel discussion will be held in the gallery on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by an opening reception until 8 p.m.
