Kellar Institute Hosts Parent Assistive Technology Workshop

The Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities hosts a two-day assistive technology workshop for parents and guardians of children with disabilities on July 15 and 16. The hands-on workshop will introduce assistive technology devices and services that can help parents become advocates and develop skills in assertiveness, team building, and collaboration in school and community settings. It is held in Krug Hall, Room 110, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days. The cost of the workshop is $25.
Topics covered include sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities; Internet resources and computer software for individuals with disabilities; understanding the computer; low-tech devices; developmental, sensory, physical, and learning disabilities; and communication tools.
