Mason Wish for Holidays: ‘Peace on Earth’

Sometimes it takes a whole university to create a video. And that’s a good thing.

Mason’s first electronic holiday greeting card has been completed, with the help of Michael “Doc Nix” Nickens, President Alan Merten and Sally Merten, Provost Peter Stearns, Coach Jim Larranaga, The Patriot, the Mason cheerleaders, and dozens of other students and staff members representing units all over the university.

The video project was produced by University Relations staff, and was filmed by Lab3 Inc., a professional video production company. Doc Nix wrote the melody and lyrics to “Love, Peace and Joy,” which is performed in the video by students in the School of Music. The video also features students saying “peace on earth” in their native languages.

Says Christine LaPaille, vice president for University Relations, “It was a lot of fun making this video, which really captures the inspiration and innovation we find at Mason. We hope everyone will share it with their families, friends, neighbors, professional associates — and the world!”
