In a letter to all state employees this week, Gov. Robert McDonnell announced that he has approved an additional eight hours of leave during the holiday season “…as a small token of my thanks for your continued hard work and dedication to serving the citizens of our commonwealth….”
Mason’s Human Resources and Payroll indicated that the additional eight hours of leave will be recorded as a flex holiday and can be used, with supervisor’s approval, any time between Dec. 23, 2010, and Dec. 24, 2011.
The governor also reiterated his plan to host a State Employee Town Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 3:30 p.m.
The town hall will take place in Richmond, Va., but employees across the state can participate by viewing streaming video during the meeting on the governor’s website. Questions or comments can be submitted via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I look forward to this opportunity to hear what matters to you most,” the governor wrote.
He added that an employee engagement survey will follow up the town hall.
