Bye-Bye, MEMO; Hello, MasonLive!

The migration of student e-mail accounts to MasonLive is done!  As of Nov. 18, approximately 35,000 MasonLive accounts have been created. Students will not receive any more e-mail to their MEMO mail account— even if the e-mail messages are sent to them at their NetID@gmu.edu e-mail address.

In order for students to receive new e-mail, they must login and set-up their MasonLive account. The MasonLive web site provides detailed instructions for students on how to set up their new MasonLive account, as well as helpful tutorials on how to:

  • Move messages from MEMO mail to MasonLIVE
  • Change the display name in MasonLive from their NetID to their actual name
  • Set up their mobile phone to receive e-mail

Faculty and staff should be aware that they can continue to send e-mail to their students at the student’s NetID@gmu.edu e-mail address, as that e-mail will be delivered automatically to the student’s MasonLive account. However, e-mail sent to the student’s NetID@masonlive.gmu.edu account directly will arrive slightly faster (as it does not have to go through the forwarding process).
