The Faculty Senate passed several resolutions and discussed a proposed university-wide code of ethics at its monthly meeting on Nov. 10.
The Faculty Senate voted to
- Approve a change to the University Catalog that alerts students that they should consult their instructors to request rescheduling if they have more than one final exam scheduled at the same time or more than two scheduled on the same day,
- Approve an amendment to the Minority and Diversity Issues Committee charge that would allow term faculty members to serve on the committee and
- Approve a draft of a university-wide code of ethics to go to the Board of Visitors, with the understanding that other suggested revisions may be presented at a later date.
The senate also heard a report from Jim Olds, director of the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study, regarding his unit’s activities; and from Linda Schwartzstein, vice provost for academic affairs and vice president for enrollment services, who discussed the consolidation of enrollment services in the new SUB I addition.
Board of Visitors Rector Ernst Volgenau was scheduled to address the senate at this meeting but had a conflict; his appearance before the senate will be rescheduled.

The senate next meets on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
