New Managers Join George Mason

Three new managers have joined the team of auxiliary services that serves George Mason’s three campuses.
Mail Services is now under the direction of Arun Charan, who joined Pitney Bowes in September 1999. Before coming to George Mason as manager of Mail Services, he supervised Pitney Bowes mail, copy, and fax activities at a Blue Cross/Blue Shield site comprising 250 employees. Charan worked in the retail industry for more than 10 years and spent four years in the U.S. Army. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia Union College.
United Bank has appointed Marion Strishock as the new branch manager at the Johnson Center location. She previously has managed retail branches that served faculty, staff, and students from George Washington, Georgetown, and American Universities. Strishock, an assistant vice president, has been with United Bank since 1997 and has 15 years of experience in the banking industry. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in general administration in financial management.
Jack Smith has been named by Barnes and Noble College Bookstores as general manager for operations at all George Mason campuses. Smith has been at George Mason since Barnes and Noble took over bookstore operations last summer, serving first as textbook manager and then as operations manager. He has been with Barnes and Noble for seven years and previously worked at the Annandale, Alexandria, and Loudoun Campuses of Northern Virginia Community College.
