Mason Celebrates International Education Week

International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education will be celebrated at Mason Nov. 12–18.

Events are sponsored by University Life, Office of the Provost, Center for Global Education, Office of International Programs and Services, and English Language Institute.

Following is a schedule of activities at Mason.

  • Friday, Nov. 12, 9:30-11 a.m.: Multicultural presentation at the Child Development Center.
  • Monday, Nov. 15, 6 p.m.: In partnership with the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the “Beyond Borders” astronomy observation session will take place in the Research I Building Astronomy Observatory.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: International Education Booths in the Johnson Center Atrium.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16, 6:45 p.m.: Screening of “Countdown to Zero” and discussion with the film’s executive producer in the Harris Theater. The film begins at 7:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 17, 3:30 p.m.: Global Language Exchange in SUB I, Meeting Room A.
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.: Innovations in International Research Student Poster Fair in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall North.
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, 1-2 p.m.: Faculty Research Panel in the Johnson Center Dewberry Hall North.
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, 3:30 p.m.: Global Language Exchange in SUB I, Meeting Room A.
