On Saturday at 10 a.m., at least 22 George Mason University staff members will be marching as part of the Class of 2000. More than 5,100 students are expected to graduate this year, and among them, the university welcomes five new “doctors” to the staff. Frances Herrity of Admissions, Susan Kehoe of GMU-TV, and David Rossell of the Provost’s Office receive their Doctor of Arts in Community College Education. Ellen Dawson, director of Student Health Services, receives her Ph.D. in Nursing. Lee Wagenhals of the Center for Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence receives his Ph.D. in Information Technology. Nine other employees receive master’s degrees, and eight earn their bachelor’s.
U.S. Supreme Court associate justice Sandra Day O’Connor is the commencement speaker, and senior Jed Rogers Bullock gives the student address.
