The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) self-study in support of the reaffirmation of accreditation of George Mason University has released its first draft report for university review. “Report on Internal Community” describes the findings and recommendations of the Internal Community Subcommittee, charged with developing a plan to help the university fulfill the commitment from Engaging the Future to “provide a welcoming and interactive community.” The draft is available on the self-study website.

Four additional drafts will be released this month. Reports from the Learning Subcommittee, Research and Creativity Subcommittee, External Community Subcommittee, and Information Technology Subcommittee will describe the results of their investigations.

The strategic subcommittees welcome comments from the university community. Send comments to or to Linda Schwartzstein, director of the self-study, at MS 3A2. To receive a hard copy of the draft, call x38679.
