Renovations Scheduled for SUB I and II

Construction begins this month on a $652,000 renovation project for SUB II, and discussions are underway for a $2.5-million renovation project for SUB I.
The SUB II project is funded by the Facility Reserve, and will be completed in September. It includes construction relating to code compliance, fire safety, HVAC renovations, ADA improvements, new folding panel partitions, and exterior cleaning of concrete and masonry surfaces.
The SUB I project, to be completed in November 2001, would include the expansion of Student Health Services and the relocation of the Student Media Learning Group, as well as fire safety improvements and system upgrades. These renovations would be funded through revenue bonds approved during the fiscal year 2000 legislative session. Cost estimates for necessary improvements to the building exceed $3 million and cannot currently be afforded. Planning for the project should end by April 2001.
