This year, the ninth annual Jazz 4 Justice concert will be held at the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on Friday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m.

“Jazz 4 Justice is the greatest coming together of campus and business communities to raise money for the Fairfax Law Foundation and various music scholarships,” says Ed Weiner, attorney and organizer of Jazz 4 Justice.

The George Mason University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jim Carroll, Mason’s director of jazz studies, will be playing at the event, which raises funds for

  • Education programs for youth about the adverse legal and health effects of drug and alcohol abuse
  • Educational courthouse tours about the judicial system for junior high students in Fairfax County
  • Operation of the Pro Bono Program, which provides legal services for Fairfax County residents who cannot afford legal services
  • Programs to counsel at-risk youth and victims of domestic violence
  • Music scholarships

An informal jam session in the lobby will be open to the public after the event. Anyone may bring their instrument and perform with the students.

Tickets are $15 for students and senior citizens and $20 for everyone else. Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Center for the Arts Box Office or online.
