Faculty-Staff Enrichment Day 2010 Registration Opens Oct. 5

The Fairfax Campus Faculty-Staff Enrichment Day 2010 will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall.
With a theme of “Expedition Mason,” this year’s presentations and activities focus on exploring and succeeding at the university. The program will include two keynote speakers, workshops, tours of some of the exciting new locations on campus and lunch at the newest dining facility, Pilot House.
Registration opens Tuesday, Oct. 5, at hr.gmu.edu/training. Individuals can attend as much or as little as they are able to, but registration is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register by Oct. 12, and you will be eligible to win two tickets to the Mason Dance Company’s fall concert.
- The opening speaker, adjunct professor Robert Rogowski, will present “Getting to Happy: Seven Practical Steps to a Happier and More Contented Life.”
- Mason’s Chief of Police Mike Lynch, whose high school football team was featured in the film “Remember the Titians,” will present the closing address on working your way through difficult situations.
- Workshop topics will include the transportation and traffic master plan, finding a work/life balance, public speaking, exercising at your desk and increasing positive moments in your work and work relationships.
- Tours, featuring presentations, performances and prizes, will allow you to explore the Research I Observatory, the Art and Design Building, the University Libraries Special Collections and Archives, the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study, the Mason Inn, the Recreation and Athletics Complex, the Aquatic and Fitness Center and the Long and Kimmy Nguyen Engineering Building.
