Comedian and actor Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live (SNL) will be appearing at the Patriot Center this semester on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m.
Meyers’s performance will be one of the many activities available to families on campus during Family Weekend, Oct. 15-17.
Tickets are now on sale at the Patriot Center Box Office for Mason students, faculty and staff members at a discounted price with their Mason ID card. Mason students may purchase up to two tickets for $5 with a Mason ID and up to two family member tickets at $15 each. Faculty and staff tickets are $15, and they may purchase up to four with a Mason ID.
General public tickets go on sale on Monday, Sept. 13, at all Ticketmaster locations for $25 each. This is a reserved-seat show.
Meyers is returning to SNL for his ninth season this fall, his fourth season as head writer and as anchor of the show’s “Weekend Update.” Before focusing his attention solely on “Weekend Update,” Meyers was a regular player in SNL comedy sketches, performing numerous characters and impressions, most notably an uncanny portrayal of Sen. John Kerry for the show’s satire of the 2004 presidential election.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Meyers studied and performed at ImprovOlympic (where many SNL cast members and writers got their start) before moving on to the Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His acclaimed show “Pick-Ups and Hiccups” with partner Jill Benjamin toured Europe and eventually caught the eye of SNL.
Most recently, Meyers wrote the script for an upcoming feature, “Key Party,” for Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video Motion Pictures. Meyers has also appeared in “American Dreamz,” “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist.”
