Mason is in the lead, but Utah State is close behind in TIAA-CREF’s Raise the Rate contest.
TIAA-CREF, one of Mason’s retirement vendors, is holding a contest to encourage ideas that will increase the U.S. savings rate to 10 percent in two years. There are some exciting prizes, including a grand prize of $50,000, a People’s Choice award of $15,000 and nine finalists at $1,000 each. And there is an opportunity for Mason: a $25,000 endowment that goes to the college or university that submits the most ideas.
The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20. Go to raisetheratecontest.org, take a spin through the rules and submit your ideas. You don’t have to be a participant in TIAA-CREF — all Mason faculty, staff, students, alumni and retirees are welcome to contribute.
