Volunteers from across the university are needed to welcome all new and returning students during the 13 days of “Welcome to Mason Nation: The Preamble.”

The “Ask Me” booths and Welcome Week tents need staffing. The Welcome Week Committee wants to provide the best experience to our students, and with the help of the university community, this can be accomplished.

Ask Me booths will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, through Thursday, Sept. 2. Most staffing shifts are for one hour.

Ask Me training will be given on

  • Thursday, Aug. 19, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room F
  • Thursday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room F
  • Friday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room D

The training sessions will cover new buildings and locations of offices; attendance at the sessions is highly encouraged. All participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt to wear during their volunteer shifts.

The sign-up form is available online. For a complete list of Welcome Week events, see the website.
