WGMU is holding a “Baskets for Kids” campaign to give university and community organizations an opportunity to donate holiday baskets for children at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children.
Baskets should contain items that are fun for kids, including coloring books, crayons, puzzles, games, and bubbles. Make sure the baskets do not contain perishable goods and that they are wrapped in plastic to maintain their structure and appearance. Baskets may be dropped off at one of the following locations:
- WGMU office, Thompson Hall, Room 214
- Aquatic and Fitness Center, Fairfax Campus
- Catholic Campus Ministry: SUB I, Room 207, or the chapel office on Roberts Road
The deadline for donations is Wednesday, April 19, at 5 p.m. The station’s goal is to collect 75 baskets, and WGMU is awarding prizes for the best baskets in various categories. Any extra baskets will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, located at the same hospital. George Mason basketball players will visit the children and give out the baskets on April 20.
