Forum Focuses on Underage and Binge Drinking

Mason Alcohol, Drug and Health Education Director Mary Ann Sprouse is one of the panelists at a forum organized by Fairfax County Police to examine the growing phenomena of binge and high-risk drinking and their consequences.
The forum, which is open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, May 26, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale campus.
The forum will include screening of the award-winning documentary “HAZE” about a college freshman who lost his life due to binge drinking.
In addition to Sprouse, who is also a lecturer for Inova Fairfax Hospital’s Reality Check program and a member of the Fairfax County Task Force to Reduce Underage Drinking, other panelists are
- Fairfax County Chief of Police Col. David M. Rohrer
- Commonwealth’s Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh
- Inova Fairfax Hospital Trauma Chief Margaret Griffen
- A parent whose child died following drinking at a college party
The forum will be held in the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center Forum, second floor, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003.
