Can you lend a hand and a couple of hours to help with Patriot Pack Out, the university’s move-out recycling program?

Volunteers are needed to work two-hour shifts from Thursday, May 6, to Friday, May 14, to collect donations from various residence hall drop locations and move them to the Interstate Worldwide Relocation trailer for delivery to our charitable partners.

Faculty and staff members can use School Assistance and Volunteer Leave to account for their time.

Last year Patriot Pack Out collected enough unopened, non-expired food to feed 1,636 people in Fairfax County through Food for Others. The drive also collected 6,765 pounds of clothing and small appliances valued at $26,721 for the Clock Tower Thrift Shop, which benefits programs of Northern Virginia Family Services.

All of these items were collected throughout the university residence halls during the final weeks of the semester.

For more details and to sign up for shifts, see the online volunteer form.
