David Burnham, former New York Times writer and author of books about the IRS and the Justice Department, speaks in the Johnson Center, Assembly Room E, today at 7:30 p.m. Burnham worked for the New York Times for about 15 years and wrote the original Serpico articles. Now he is codirector of a data-gathering, data-research, and data-distribution organization called Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), an online operation that exists to “provide the American people…with comprehensive information about the activities of federal enforcement and regulatory agencies.” Today he talks about how TRAC works and the possibilities therein.
