The 2000 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) wrestling championships make their third appearance at George Mason’s John Linn Memorial Gymnasium tomorrow. Each of the 10 individual weight class champions and three “wild card” entries will earn berths in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Championships, which are held March 16 to 18 in St. Louis. Since the CAA recognized wrestling as a championship sport in 1992, the conference has produced six All-Americans (placing in the top eight in a weight class at the national tournament). George Mason, which won the CAA crown when hosting the tournament in 1995 and 1996, has won four of the eight conference championships. Virginia Tech, formerly an associate member of the CAA, has won two titles, and Old Dominion and James Madison each have one.
